How to set up an email on Mac mail

1 – Open Mail

Firstly, let’s open up mac mail. Top right click Mail > Add Account.

2 – Account type

You should see a popup like the image below, we want to select Other Mail Account

3 – Now time to enter your details 

These details should be available from your service provider. If that’s us, shoot me a quick email (perhaps from another email) or give a ring and I’ll happily provide them.

Name – This is the name you wish to appear in a persons inbox when you send them an email
Email – Enter your email address
Password – Carefully enter your password

Click Sign In

5 – More details please

A few more details to enter and you email will all be setup.

Email – This should already be entered, if not enter it again
Username – Your full email address again **NOTE** this has a tendency to disappear, no idea why and I seem to have lost apples phone number to ask why so just double check that it’s there before you finish this screen**
Account Type – select IMAP
Incoming mail server – Enter the information provided to you by nuvismedia or your service provider
Outgoing mail server – Enter the information provided to you by nuvismedia or your service provider

Just before you click sign in, make sure that username still has your email address in it. If not, enter it again.

Click Sign In and you’re done. You should see your new email address on the left side of the mail application window.
